The method
The Talent Rewire method treats AI adoption as a series of task-level decisions. Each one is analyzed, priced and owned before it changes anyone's work.
The building blocks
Organizations reach goals through activities, activities are made of tasks, and tasks require skills. Task intelligence connects them: knowing which tasks to automate, which to augment and which to keep human.
Adapted from Applying AI in Learning & Development, Figure 2-1.
Stage 1
Capture how work is really done, from the people who do it and the SOPs that describe it.
Three levels: workflows, tasks, steps. Decisions happen at the task level.
Place each task on the Human-AI Task Scale, from L1 (human only) to L7 (fully autonomous agent).
Stage 2
Place each task on the Gottfredson-Cavalier Matrix: how hard is it, and how much does failure cost?
Use NET to compare the value of the work with its full cost: human, AI, orchestration and the supervision tax.
If the financial case holds, calculate the human capacity the decision returns.
Stage 3
Decide where returned hours create the most value: new work, better service, or capacity you were missing.
Upskill people for the new work and workflows, starting with the skills each new task split requires.
Run it yourself or with us
HMPA Foundations teaches practitioners to run the decision steps by hand. Talent Rewire runs all nine on your organization's workflows.
